Glenternie House : ウィキペディア英語版 | Glenternie House Glenternie House is a Scots-Baronial style B Grade mansion built between 1863 and 1868. It is situated near the town of Peebles, Scotland. ==History== Glenternie was originally built for David Kidd Esq., of Leyton in Essex. Previously, at this site stood Borthwick Church. The Church was burned down in 1847. The designs and architecture were carried out by Brown & Wardrop and notably David Bryce. Mr Kidd died before the house was completed and was unable to see his dream house finished. The house was then occupied by his wife, Mrs Kidd, and her sister Miss Pringle. The house was sold in the early 20th century to John Inglis (shipbuilder), a well known shipbuilder situated in Glasgow. After this, it was sold to the Wolfe-Murray family, then the Morrow family and has been in ownership of the current family since 1998.〔http://www.scottisharchitects.org.uk/building_full.php?id=200683〕 The current family also operate Glenternie as a Bed and Breakfast.
